The VPF-710 visibility sensor provides high-quality visibility measurements in a compact, robust package.
The open design of the sensor head allows air to pass freely so that visibility measurements can be made as accurately as possible under all conditions. Other features in the design ensure correct responses to all types of precipitation, as well as smoke and dust. The VPF-710 is very resistant to interference from nearby light sources, such as aviation obstacle warning lamps, and is constant and flashing. Even the latest generation of IR obstruction lighting doesn't matter.
The sensor is suitable for use in aviation applications due to its measurement accuracy, overall reliability and lifespan. With full compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organization runway visual range specification and easy integration of the Biral ALS-2 ambient light sensor, VPF-710 is particularly suitable for runway visual range (RVR) applications.
As standard, the sensor has a wide range of self-test monitoring functions, including window pollution monitoring and output compensation. The VPF-710 is available under AC mains or low-voltage DC power, and the hood heater is available in snowy areas.
